*Pretty Huge Disappointment (it’s not false advertising if it’s true)

Zara Khan is a Pakistani-American, Muslim, L.A.-based comedian, writer, TEDx speaker, content creator, and internet personality. In her work, she shares her experiences as a Muslim woman with mental health challenges battling beasts like discrimination, dating, and trying to win Burqini competitions. She has a Bachelor's in Engineering and a Master's in Counseling, so you know her parents are very disappointed.
She is a nationally touring stand-up comedian who performs alongside Jews, Christians, and whatever Tehran is in the international "no politics, just laughs" Comedy for Peace show. She has given 2 TEDx talks and her one-woman show called “Same Shiite, Different Day” is featured on “Signature Bits,” available on Spotify and Amazon. She's subjected entertained audiences from festivals, clubs, and colleges all over the U.S. with her jokes. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Upright Citizen's Brigade Diversity Scholarship.
In addition to standup, she had a fruitful e-sports career. She was sponsored by the Japanese multinational entertainment company Konami to lead several e-sports initiatives. As a competitive Yugioh player, Twitch streamer, and "Yugituber," she traveled internationally playing nerdy card games and making boys and men of all ages cry. While she had a good run being a queen of nerds (debatable), she left to focus on comedy full-time.
Zara is also a successful producer. Her show, “The Many Faces of Muslim Women,” was featured in OC Weekly. Her recurring online show, “Combating Coronavirus: Virtual Comedy Show” was featured in the LA Times. (This is just a humble brag. Do not ask her to produce a show.)
A lot of people ask me, "How do you get booked so much?" Here are some things that help me. Some of this is personal experience and other is what I've heard from booker friends.
